MSP Premium Assistance

Only those MSP beneficiaries with premium assistance status are eligible for a combined annual limit (each calendar year) of 10 visits for acupuncture services, physiotherapy, massage therapy, chiropractic, naturopathy and non-surgical podiatry.

ICBC claims

ICBC rates are only in effect if a client’s claim is approved. If the date of a client’s MVA is more than 60 days before the first visit, pre-approval from ICBC may be required and a doctor’s note to support the need for physiotherapy treatment may be requested.

WorkSafeBC claims: No charge for accepted claims

A claim must be “pending” at the time of first treatment in order for WSBC to be billed the assessment cost. If a client’s claim is more than 60 days since the date of injury, pre-approval is required from WorkSafeBC prior to an initial visit, or the private visit rate will be charged. Clients will be reimbursed once their claim is approved and processed.

Extended Health Care Benefits

Most extended health plans will provide some coverage for physiotherapy. Please check with your provider for more detailed information on benefits available to you. We do direct billing for third parties; however, you may have to pay the difference depending on the amount of your coverage. Most extended plans pay 80-100% of the charges.
